Province Lighting LEDs Light Up Allandale
The designers of this striking project made use of the latest advances in LED lighting to create an eyecatching focal point within the building .
The Allandale building is situated in a high profile location within Waterfall City , Midrand , Gauteng . Developed by Attacq and home to corporate tenants such as Schneider Electric , it was designed as a contemporary P Grade commercial building . The Allandale Building is registered for a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ( LEED ) Gold rating .
Province Lighting worked closely with CKR Engineers who were responsible for the electrical engineering on this project in conjunction with Edison Power Gauteng who were contracted to carry out the electrical installation .
Province Lighting was involved from both a design and installation perspective on a number of lighting applications ; most specifically the extensive LED cove lighting , façade lighting and Atrium lighting . A number of different profiles as well as lumen outputs were used to create the desired effect . The specific design of the coves required a unique LED product which was custom engineered and installed to meet the architectural requirements of this project . Along with the LED linear lighting , Province were also suppliers of the LED downlights throughout the building .

About Province Lighting Established in 1987 in Cape Town , Province Lighting has shown consistent growth over the past 30 years , currently employing over 80 skilled staff members across the country .
The company offers a comprehensive range of specialised retail , commercial , industrial and architectural lighting products as well as a full range of automation and switching solutions . Operations cover over 7,000m ² of showrooms , demonstration areas and distribution warehousing across the branches and maintain a stock holding of between 25 and 30 million rand .
There is full involvement from company directors Jurgen Chemelli , Jan Malan , Dereck Abbey and Kevin Murphy in all daily duties and company responsibilities , with a combined lighting experience of over 60 years between them .
