During the studio phase for Study
#7, it was crucial for the team to
have a glimpse into the immersive
experiences of Studies #4 and #6.
Part inspired by ‘live archeology’
from Study #4 and the
meditative quality of Alus from
Study #6, RAW Moves undertook a
one-week field trip to Surakarta in
Central Java.
The aim was to embed the new
‘composite dance’ into different
climates of palace, of temple, of
archeological ruin, of closed and
open architectures and of water.
