Site North facing with Table Mountain as the backdrop and Table Bay ahead , the site stands proud on the southern side of Victoria Road . Previously home to the old House of Monatic Textile Factory , this central position just off Nelson Mandela Boulevard offers ease of access into Cape Town CBD , the Southern Suburbs , N2 outbound toward Cape Town International Airport , and minutes from the N1 North and South . An existing warehouse , factory shop and office building were demolished and the three separate erven were consolidated into a single 10,252m 2 erf . Consideration was given to retaining the existing office building , but the structure did not lend itself to being adapted into a functional and efficient , contemporary commercial building .
The Brief The brief was for the design of A-Grade commercial space for a new headquarters for the technological education company 2U ’ s regional campus , including office space , technical support and IT , as well as production space for the creation of video lectures and e-learning platforms .
