ARCHITECTURAL FOCUS
Together with DELVA, the square will be greened and connected to the Koekamp, with a restaurant pavilion as a new public destination.
A new entrance for The Hague A city starts where you arrive, The Hague started nowhere for a long time. The Koningin Julianaplein in front of The Hague Central Station was not a square but a remnant: wedged between the tracks, the tram viaduct, the traffic flows and the heavy substructure of Stichthage, the office complex on top of the station. Everything in this place was once conceived from infrastructure; not from the person who arrived. In 2016, Powerhouse Company, developers Synchroon and Amvest and DELVA Landscape Architecture won the competition for this place with an ambitious plan that has now been realized ten years later.
