REYNAERS SLIMLINE 68 DELIVERS PREMIUM PERFORMANCE FOR ESTUARY BOATHOUSE
SlimLine 68( SL 68), aluminium window system from Reynaers Aluminium, has been specified for the newly completed Riversmeet Boathouse in Topsham, Exeter, combining slim sightlines and expansive glazing with weather, thermal and acoustic performance.
Installed by Reynaers at Home Partner Aspect Windows, SL 68 was selected to meet the demanding conditions of the exposed riverside setting while supporting the architectural vision for a strong connection between the home and its surroundings.
Built on the site of a former boat pavilion within the grounds of the Grade II-listed Riversmeet House, the new-build residence sits at the meeting point of the River Exe and River Clyst. The design makes the most of its waterside setting, capturing panoramic views across the estuary and adjacent RSPB nature reserve while maximising natural light inside.
The project required a comfortable, energy-efficient home capable of withstanding strong winds and wind-driven rainfall. With slim aluminium profiles and minimal sightlines, SL 68 reduces the visual separation between indoors and out, making the landscape an integral part of the living space.
Riversmeet Boathouse is a strong example of how the right window system can maximise a property’ s natural features and strengthen the connection between outdoors and indoors.

“ With slimline aluminium frames allowing for larger panes of glass, SL 68 proved an ideal match to the look and feel of the property while making the outdoor areas the focal point of the rooms.”
The system is rated Class 4 for air tightness, tested at 600 Pascals( Pa), reducing draughts and energy loss. It has also been tested for water penetration at 1200Pa and achieved Class C5 wind load resistance, maintaining structural integrity under pressures of up to 2000Pa. SL 68 also meets PAS 24 certification for enhanced home security.
Specified with a pre-anodised finish, the coating provides UV resistance, colour retention and long-term protection against environmental factors.
