Combining Cedral with metal detailing
For a two house modern eco build in Chepstow on the banks of the River Wye, the developers wanted a distinctive exterior that fused elements of brutalist design with environmental functionality. Both architect designed houses have an‘ eco-engine room’ and integrated garages on the ground floor. The bedrooms, kitchen and living space are on the first and second floors.
The exterior has a unique design featuring stainless steel detailing which integrates seamlessly with the cladding boards.
The developers evaluated several facade brands before deciding on Cedral Slate Grey. They explained,“ One of the important things for us is that the facade doesn’ t need frequent painting or cleaning. We wanted something we could just wipe down, particularly with all the seagulls around. And that’ s what we got – it looks the same now as it did when it was first done – and it’ ll look the same next year too.”
