HANDCRAFTED STONEWORK TO COMPLIMENT TRADITIONAL PROPERTY PROJECTS

A COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION
Prime building plots in the centre of heritage towns can be tricky to utilise. Property developers and builders have to finely balance budgets, planning applications and the needs of both potential buyers and local residents.

Chilstone’ s architectural stone can provide a cost effective solution with our versatile material that can replicate period features and age like carved stone.
Family Homes to Suit the Neighbourhood.
We have worked on a number of family homes where the builders have been conscious of the historic location. Together we balanced the need to maximise living space whilst complimenting the surrounding buildings with period features from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Our stonework was designed to tie these new builds into the area seamlessly with a high attention to detail.
We handcrafted window headers, cills, door surrounds, keystones and parapet copings to help create these three storey, beautiful homes.
Restoring Period Features
In our seventy years in business we have supplied bespoke stonework for numerous restoration projects. We have worked with property developers to replace homes in London that were destroyed during the Blitz in the 1940s. The Victorian period features were recreated by hand to complete the row of terraced houses.
Our expertise restored the stone detailing, featuring a fine floral and leaf pattern in the stone work, unique to the road. This beautiful pattern is repeated across the headers above the windows and along the lintels in the doorway and the decorative arches on each property in the street. We also made cast stone gate pier caps and coping stones to support elegant gates and railings synonymous with the Victorian era, the builder even added traditional black and white tiled pathways.
With over seven decades in business we have extensive experience in restoring and replicating character features from new builds to blending extensions into period properties and restoring damaged stonework.
