Rocket Door Frames Ltd , manufacturers of the only 100 % steel pocket door system on the market , have moved into a brand new production facility with not only state-of-the- art production systems but also with a focus on the sustainability of the whole production and functionality of the unit .
It has been designed by local architects and engineers to meet or exceed the Minimum Environmental Criteria ( MEC ) currently used to define Green Public Procurement : green criteria designed to prompt public bodies in Europe to purchase green goods and services , with the lowest possible environmental impact throughout their life-cycle . From the very beginning this was at the forefront of the design , an examples of this are the efforts placed in the thermic insulation of the basic structure and the layout of the production system and offices to maximise the management of heat transfer and harvesting .
The production itself is almost completely supplied with energy from photovoltaic cells installed on the roof and supplying 200KW of energy to the machinery and offices . These were also manufactured and installed by companies local to the factory .
Being the only 100 % steel pocket door system on the market it was important that all the steel used for Rocket Door Frames is from suppliers who use recycled steel whIch in itself is 100 % recyclable . The packaging has been designed in house and uses 100 % recycled carton tubing with steel end caps for strength .
Based in Northern Italy near Treviso Rocket Door Frames are distributed throughout the UK by their distribution centre in Grantham Lincolnshire .
