THE EASE AND SPEED OF APPLICATION ALSO ENABLES US TO CARRY OUT THE WATERPROOFING OF ANY FEATURES WITHOUT DELAYING THE SCHEDULE, INCLUDING MULTIPLE BALUSTRADE POSTS WHICH ARE BEING RETROFITTED. The liquid waterproofing system was installed by roofing contractor Noble House Services. Kevin Palmer from Noble House, led the project. He said: “Health and safety was crucial on this scheme - so there was a demand for cold-applied liquid waterproofing rather than a hot melt or naked flame system.” Another benefit of the Kemperol V210M was its quick application and versality. The fleece-reinforced, liquid waterproofing system enabled the contractors to adhere to the strict timescales and operational restrictions on-site. Kevin continued: “We’ve worked with Kemper System for many years so knew that Kemperol V210M would provide the safest and most effective solution. One of the main benefits is that it can be applied very quickly and easily using a roller. This provides us with the time and flexibility to move around the site to complete other jobs as and when required ensuring we can keep to the tight construction programme. “The ease and speed of application also enables us to carry out the waterproofing of any features without delaying the schedule, including multiple balustrade posts which are being retrofitted.” Unlike other cold applied liquid waterproofing systems, Kemperol V210M is applied ‘wet on wet’. In practice, this means the system is laid in a single process by saturating the polyester reinforcing fleece with Kemperol resin which bonds the membrane to the substrate as it cures. This gives a single layer seamless membrane of uniform thickness that cannot delaminate. Kemper System’s new, perforated fleece was used by the contractors – designed to increase the speed of resin saturation and allow trapped air to escape quicker to save time on site and further improve the ease of application. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Extremely durable and tear-resistant, Kemperol V210M also has excellent crack bridging capabilities and can accommodate structural details and penetrations without the need for additional mechanical fixings. Thanks to the savvy specification of Kemper System, and the quality application by contractors, the Kemperol V210M waterproofing will provide a sound, sustainable solution for the client and end user alike, for many years to come. www.kempersystem.co.uk Hot works systems are commonly used on new build developments, yet Kemperol offers a number of advantages for developers. As it is cold applied, it is very safe as avoids the fire risk of hot works and the dangers associated with handling hot materials. It is also UV stable and more suitable for complex details and exposed areas, providing a completely seamless membrane encompassing the whole roof area.
