KEMPER SYSTEM’S LIQUID WATERPROOFING OFFERS LONDON LUXURY The development of a new, multi-million-pound housing and leisure community required design, specification and application expertise. Victoria Ramwell from cold-applied liquid waterproofing specialist, Kemper System, explains the process. Beaufort Park has been named as North West London’s most established new destinations by St George, part of the Berkeley Group. The scheme includes hundreds of new homes, health and fitness facilities, eight acres of landscaped gardens as well as shops, bars and restaurants. Boasting just a short journey from the vibrant heart of London city centre, Beaufort Park is a one-of-a-kind luxury living community, with architectural flare incorporated into the design. A SOUND SPECIFICATION Kemper System’s Kemperol V210M was specified for this new- build residential scheme by one of the city’s leading developers. A trusted waterproofing solution was required for five, high specification  apartment blocks, comprising a total of  363   homes within the Park. The cold-applied liquid solution offers high- performance waterproofing for the roof areas of each building. Because of the versatility of Kemperol V210M, meaning it can be applied not only to roofs, but balconies, terraces and walkways, it was then also specified for terrace areas and a  second-floor podium, which will be used as a communal courtyard. QUALITY INSTALLATION The liquid resin was applied onto the required areas using a roller, with a reinforcement fleece laid directly in to the wet resin, immediately followed by more resin on top to ensure complete saturation of the fleece. Once cured, the resin formed a seamless, elastomeric waterproof membrane that cannot delaminate, is UV stable and bonds directly to the substrate. Because the Kemperol V210M system is ideal for complex detailing, this also meant easy installation for operatives around details, such as ventilation units, pipe work and plant on the roof areas.
