WPP Hamburg’s new workspace strategy BDG architecture + design complete As one of the largest shipping ports in Europe, Hamburg has long been established as a leading transport hub, when WPP took the decision to co-locate its agencies and media companies into a new city central workspace the intention was to establish their presence as a leading creative hub. BDG architecture + design was appointed to undertake the strate- gy, concept and developed design for the new WPP Hamburg col- located space accommodating over 850 people, which was then delivered in partnership with a local architect and developer. BDG worked closely with all WPP companies in Hamburg, evalu- ating their requirements in order to develop the strategic archi- tectural brief.  This included utilisation and accommodation anal- ysis, observational studies and senior level workshops, results of which defined and formed the workplace strategy for a consoli- dated working environment. Colin Macgadie, Chief Creative Officer at BDG architecture + de- sign, comments: BDG architecture + design is an in- ternational architecture and design consultancy focusing on strategy, architecture and design for corpo- rate, public sector and education clients for new build, refurbishment and heritage projects. “The new workplace has been designed to facilitate WPP Ham- burg’s role as a fulcrum in global business, as well as emphasising their deeply rooted position in the German and Hamburg markets. Bringing these groups of people together in an inspirational space that allows them to communicate and work in new and exciting ways, forging new relationships between individuals, businesses, clients and the local community. It’s a journey from the present to the future, with one eye on the past.”
