Hoarding
Using the hoarding on the perimeter of
your project to advertise, enhance and
inform is nothing new. However, with the
latest technology and extra-wide printing
presses, the cost to clad your existing
hoarding with high quality graphics, has
been reduced quite considerably.

When Spiral invested in their latest flatbed press, they had printed hoarding in
mind. The sheer size of the print bed,
and production speed, means they have
expanded capacity, increased production
speed and reduced the cost to the enduser. However, it’s not just the cost of the
hoarding, it’s how it looks…
Spiral Colour Print have a unique
approach to hoarding graphic
production, from print finishing to
installation. Their workforce is a blend
of print finishers-cum-fitters, which
means they have a cohesive workflow
from production to installation. They
also produce detailed Adobe InDesign
diagrams in scale so that designers can
see their designs take shape in reality,
rather than a perfectly flat and false
design canvas. Pre-press manager David
Davies and Production Manager Jason
Carpenter, work with designers to ensure
their work is successfully reproduced in
the high resolution print process, and
discuss requirements with designers
before production takes place.
Designers are encouraged to develop
their ideas, with a number of different
ways of presenting hoarding graphics
now being implemented. Gold and
silver metallic vinyls, viewing apertures
incorporated into designs as well as
3D block lettering being used in recent
projects.
Spiral Colour also produce and install
bespoke wall coverings, wallpapers
together with unique vinyl graphics to
complete the branding project internally.
Both old and new buildings have seen
the Spiral installation team create some
excellent wall-art on their walls over the
last eight years, and there’s more to come.
