‘Aluprof's BIM Library - Level 2 Ready’
The importance of having a complete library of BIM objects to
hand and in the right format is a crucial step forward in order
to meet the construction industrys' planned strategy efficiency
targets for 2025, these include a 50% reduction in programme
and a 33% reduction in overall construction costs. Aluprof are at
the forefront of BIM technology and are already compliant with
Revitt level 2 models, which is ahead of this years April deadline
set by the government for public sector asset procurement.
Part of the BIM Toolkit project, Aluprof’s systems have been
implemented under Uniclass 2015, a single unified classification
system for any type of building construction or infrastructure
project. For specifiers and fabrication customers of Aluprof, BIM
models are available for immediat e download from the company

Aluprof are currently looking at BIM Level 3 compliance, currently
scheduled for adoption in 2019, this level suggests using a single
source, shared project model held in a central location, such as
a cloud server. By being accessible by all parties involved in the
project, they should be able to work on and construct the same
electronic model. Currently known as ‘OpenBIM’, BIM Level 3 is
the first model which will fully connect the supply and data chain
from start to finish creating end to end efficiencies throughout the
construction life cycle.

Trouble free parking at
Tondu Primary School
Parking for school buses and cars can be a problem outside many
rural schools but not at Tondu Primary School near Bridgend, South
Wales. An extensive asphalted parking area has been created next
to the school with surface water drainage channels supplied by
Hauraton Limited.
150 metres of FASERFIX® KS 100 Fibre Reinforced Concrete channels
fitted with Class E600 ductile iron gratings were installed by
Churngold Construction Limited in the school bus drop-off area with
a further 50 metres of RECYFIX® PLUS 100 Class D400 channels in the
adjacent car park. RECYFIX® channels are made from tough, 100%
recycled polypropylene (PP) Both channels have
galvanised steel reinforcement housings that
take the gratings. All the gratings had 6mm
HEELSAFE slots.
