The key benefits of the product compared
to ceramic tiles are simple:
Saving - on average laminated panels will
be 25% cheaper than installing tiles. This
is mainly because Mermaid panels do not
require a specialist tile fitter. As an addition
to this Mermaid panels last much longer
than tiles further saving on the full life cost.
No Mould - There’s no grout used with
Mermaid panels, so in the long run that
means no mould. This makes the panels
easier to clean, and keeps them looking
great for years to come.
Beautiful Crafted Surfaces
Speed - Again because no grout is used,
Mermaid panels are much quicker to fit
than tiles.
Clean & Safe - A large selection of panels
are now available with a Microban Coating.
Mermaid are the only panel suppler to
incorporate this specialist element into
the panel during the production process,
which means that once bacteria comes
into contact with the surface, the bacteria
perish.
Watertight Guarantee - The Mermaid panel
system is guaranteed to remain watertight
and waterproof for ten years from date of
purchase.
Glass Panels
Mermaid’s glass panels are produced in
6mm toughened glass in a range of over
40 standard colours, with further colours
available by special request. After the
special painting process the back of the
panels are protected using a vinyl film
to both prevent damage and stop light
transition through the panel.
Acrylic Panels
Acrylic panels provide an excellent
alternative to glass in a broad range of
standard colours ex-stock, but can also be
supplied in our colour match RAL system,
or digital image selector.
The range has a superior impact strength
of glass, yet is only half the weight. This
makes the system easy to store and handle
during installation as the material can
also be cut, drilled and fabricated using
standard wood working tools.
Laminated Panels
The laminated panel range which
comprises of over 40 different decors, is
constructed of High Pressure Laminate
bonded to a plywood core using a PVA
(D4 rated) adhesive system to give a
completely waterproof surface meeting
all the requirements of EN438. The
panel substrate is 9mm WBP plywood
which is water resistant and meets the
requirements of EN635.
