Synseal’s best-selling hybrid
orangery, Global Summer, is now
available in an extended range
of building extension footprint
styles thanks to a new 90 degree
internal corner casting.
Launched in May 2012, Global
Summer was initially available
in popular Georgian, Victorian
and Gable conservatory styles
which cater for the vast majority
of orangery market applications,
but the new 90 degree internal
corner casting now allows more
complex T-shaped and P-shaped
orangeries to be constructed.
“One of the very first installations
of Global Summer was a special
design calling for a 90 degree
internal corner casting, so we
hand-crafted components in
our Research & Development
department using the latest
3D modelling technology,”
comments Phil Parry, Synseal’s
Head of R&D. “Since then we’ve
had a number of similar requests
for more complex orangery
footprint designs, so it made
sense for us to invest in creation
of a cast aluminium solution.”

Synseal’s Modena orangery has
been installed at a detached
Lancashire home to replace an
existing two-storey building
extension and conservatory,
delivering an improved
replacement extension which
affords a truly modern and
flexible living space.
The aim of this project was to
create a large kitchen-family
room in the heart of the house,
so the old conservatory was
demolished and the rear wall
of the original extension was
removed, allowing the new
extension to project further into
the garden patio area.
Boasting contemporary and
linear aesthetic styling, the
Modena is primarily designed
for urban townscape and
modern suburban applications,
presenting traditional orangery
design features with a modern
twist. In addition to an internal
perimeter soffit which is typically
604mm deep, Modena’s striking
decorative aluminium fascia is
a unique feature, creating an
additional overhanging external
soffit which is just short of 60cm
in depth.
The technology used in the
build, including Synseal’s
exclusive Celsius performance
glass, means this orangery
extension is highly thermally
efficient and can be used all year
round.
