KyOto Garden Art Earlier this month Long Rake Spar were delighted to donate our premium 14mm Silver Grey Granite to the Hortus non Conculus garden exhibit at Tate Britain coinciding with their ‘Barbara Hepworth: Sculpture for a Modern World’ exhibition. Designed by Rosie Irving and co-designer Antonia Young, the garden takes its inspiration from the textile designs of artist Barbara Hepworth and highlights the different contexts and spaces in which Hepworth presented her work. Archetech - Issue 20 [Page 114] Silver Grey Granite was chosen because of its white and blacked flecked colouring which emphasised the monochromatic design that Rosie created, as well the texture it provided in contrast to the smooth cast limestone planters from Haddonstone. The aggregate was placed in a floor stabilisation system, supplied by Kinley Systems, to ensure the gravel stayed within the design and was easy for visitors to walk on. The Silver Grey was chosen in a 14mm size to fit effectively in the retaining grids and to allow access for wheelchair users. Hortus non Conculus will remain in-situ outside Tate Britain until 2nd September 2015. www.longrakespar.co.uk After the great response to the product at RHS Chelsea, many garden designers, and interior designers, and architect’s alike are seeing the versatile use for this product with back lighting & mirrors & frames, these screens can add another dimension to an outside or interior space, now all 18 designs in 4 sizes are available in Hardwood or 56 colours of Aluminium sheet.
