rom the bustling metropolis of
Bangkok to the lush wilderness
of the rural Thai jungle, immerse
yourself in an experience unlike any
other. Explore the famous Wat Pho and
Grand Palace in Bangkok and ride atop
a canoe at one of Thailand’s famous
floating markets. Befriend, care and
bathe the stately Thai elephant, while
working alongside the Mahout, the
elephant caregiver, as you learn about
efforts to protect these gentle giants.
Try your hand at cooking Thai curries
and Pad Thai, then experience serenity
and Buddhist practices at a Thai Forest
Monastery. Run an English camp for
your new young friends at a local
orphanage, knowing that your work
here will never be forgotten. Volunteer
in a hill-tribe village while sharing in
traditional daily routines and practices.
Your trip concludes over a final feast
in Bangkok, where you reflect on the
friends you have made, the laughs you
have shared and the experiences you
will never forget.
Despite an abundance of water in Cambodia, access to clean water sources is
very limited. Due to lack of infrastructure development, nearly half the Cambodian
population drinks water that is unclean; the results have been devastating to public
health. The spotlight project of our Vietnam and Cambodia service program is to
use cement to construct bio-sand water filters and then install these filters into the
homes of rural community members in Kampong Speu.

Program Highlights:
The quality of education that children receive in Thailand is a major concern
and studies have shown that the learning level of Thai children in major
subject areas has declined over the past 10 years. Our spotlight project in
Thailand is teaching English to primary-aged school children in the Village
Hill Community and at the Thai Orphanage. Surrounded by students eager to
learn the English language, we witness our impact as our interactions
and conversations grow.
