A Word about Angel…

Hello, my name is Angelina Gutierrez. I am Co-CEO of Arabella Magazine.

Growing up, I struggled with the normal adversities; being a larger girl in a very narrow-minded world, coming from a lower-class family, and also tackling the daily struggles of being a woman. I endured some traumatic events in my lifetime and as I grew up I felt that these were a stigma in an already judgmental world. Eventually, I started to understand that these events shaped me into a stronger and more loving person. My past trials were no longer ugly scars I tried to hide but the imperfections that are a part of me. Even though my healing process is a continuous process I want to help others as I continue on my journey. How was I, being just one person, going to be able to spread a message of unity and hope? Through Random acts of kindness? Maybe. Lend an ear to someone in need? Possibly. Then I was approached by a good friend and kind soul who had the same ideas and vision as I did. Through this magazine I hope to be that act of kindness, that friend when you need me and cheerleader during hard times. We all need those things from time-to-time and with like-minded, strong and kind women we can. We can reach those in need, those who are on the edge of losing hope or who feel alone. We can provide outlets from various experiences and opinions to reach a much larger and diverse audience to uplift and unite women. My message to you is: We can!

A Word about Abi…

My name is Abi Jessen. I am Chief Editor of Arabella Magazine.

My journey to become a member of the Arabella Team was a long and hard road, but I'm grateful for it. My life, because of the choices I had made and the views I held of myself, was miserable. I hated myself, it was like I was drowning in how much I hated myself. I came to a point in my life when I felt I had one of two choices: I could either quit and just accept that this was all my life was going to be OR I could work my hardest to change the way things were and to change how I thought of myself. Thanks to the loving guidance of my aunt, Keri Campbell, I was able to make the courageous decision to fight for myself. She was right by my side as I took on each new challenge, and rewrote the way I thought about myself and others. I'm still learning, but I've come to love that life is a journey and each day holds a new learning opportunity. I've learned how to love myself, and to think positively about myself. Being a part of the Arabella Team is an amazing blessing in my life because it continues to give me new tools, teaches me how to fight for me, and aids me in serving those around me. That's one of the greatest things about this magazine, the advice and practices they give actually WORK!! Why? Because instead of giving just one singular treatment for everyone's struggles it instead provides a structure to find out what works best for you and to make that work. It provides an array of tools that you can use however you want to. And it is wonderful! I'm so grateful to be a part of Arabella and to share and participate in this great work.
