AQHA- DIRECTOR REPORTS SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2025

Dear Members,
It’ s with great pleasure to present my presidents report for 2025.
The past 12 months has seen me complete my second term as President and I thank the board for the support they have shown in me during this time. As like the previous 12 months, I have worked to ensure the board is more transparent to the membership with more reports to update members on the happenings within the AQHA and from reports from members received, it has been a success with the membership.
The past 12 months has seen growth in memberships and registrations of horses within the AQHA, the nationals were again a success, and I hope Q26 is bigger and better again.
We have had a small loss these last 12 months but please look at the balance sheet to see what has been spent and what has been received, if the printing of the rule book had not fallen into this past year, we would have again made a profit.
We have spent money across the board on programs to benefit our members from increases in prizemoney for the nationals, a new judging program to help us foster new judges into the judges ranks. Greater incentives have been introduced into the Cattle and Timed event which has seen our memberships and registrations grow. More money spent on Affiliates with more to come in this area as well.
Our Pro Horsemen are ensuring all trainers are qualified by way of better understanding the requirements of trainers across the board and of course the Youth program is getting bigger and bigger and the 2025 / 26 membership year will see free memberships to all youth within the AQHA.
Our Amateurs are benefiting from free clinics across Australia and the Traditional events have now a range of online videos to check out. Show and Performance are working hard on the new rule book with the future adaption of accepting the USA show rules to suit Australia.
We will be looking at updating our Constitution over the next 12 months to bring us up to date and this is badly needed to ensure the AQHA is well covered under constitutional law.
Our marketing has greatly improved as well over the past 12 months with members getting up to date information from social media, this marketing of our brand across all events is a priority and a lot of time and effort has been put into this area.
I encourage you all to read all of the Portfolio holders reports to update yourselves on what has been happening there.
I must thank our GM Gemma Clarke and her team in the office, again well done for the past 12 months.
In closing, I thank the members who have taken their time to touch base with me about any issues they feel strongly about and of course the directors and the office are always available to take questions from the members of the AQHA.
