The HSA instructors course was definitely worthwhile attending. I really liked how it was structured and allowed the trainers to be able to have open discussions on all topics. I certainly feel it would be beneficial to all trainers / instructors and will only enhance your business. Especially as far as safety awareness and risk factors are concerned. I have spoken to several trainers and have highly recommended they attend the course if possible.

I would like to thank the AQHA for putting on the HSA clinic for Trainers and clinicians. I have so much more respect for our horse industry and different priorities now that i have the knowledge of every aspect of safety and laws that we must abide by. We must go forward together to survive in our horse industry and this course will make you aware of it. The comradely that we shared and ideas that we bounced off each others was so refreshing. it is an event that i will cherish for the rest of my life because it is life changing. I wish to thank everyone who made it possible and a special thanks to Paul, Nina and Huon our clinicians who were remarkable and to Terry and Tasha for how they looked after us for the four days.

I recently attended the Horse Safety Australia Course organised by the AQHA and held at the Burpengary Indoor Equestrian Centre on August 8th to 11th.
I really enjoyed the course and learnt new techniques and procedures, which will help improve my business. All participants need to take a riding horse, it doesn’ t have to be a show horse, just one you can walk / trot / canter on, as part of the course is giving lessons and clinics to the other participants.
I feel all trainers of any discipline who give lessons or clinics need to attend this course, they don’ t tell you how to train horses or teach people, they give you suggestions on different ways to do what you already do. Give AQHA a call for a course in your area.

I would strongly encourage any trainer considering the Horse Safety Australia Instructors Trainers course, run by Horse Safety Australia, to attend. Whilst I was confident in my own ability to train and teach, I was somewhat anxious about the theory and the assessment components of the course. Almost immediately on the first day my apprehension was put to rest, as I found the assessor to be approachable, professional, friendly and above all they demonstrated strong industry experience in all areas. I found that many grey areas regards safety, legal requirement for trainers and over all responsibilities were addressed in a user friendly manner, and provided clarity for me as a trainer. This in turn, has given me the insight that I ' ve been looking for to implement further safety measures within my business, and how to go about doing so. The course has also boosted my overall confidence as a trainer and reassured me of my own ability to teach. I believe the horse training industry needs regulating and that there is a need for all trainers across the board to attend and demonstrate competency in such a course as this. It was a privilege to work in this environment alongside my fellow trainers and well respected assessors.
