1. Tell us briefly about yourself. I’ ve been immersed in the industry for as long as I can remember, coming up through the Youth ranks and developing my passion for showing horses alongside my mum, Diane Rose.
2. When did you begin training and what made you want to be a trainer? I began training horses at the age of 20. My passion for horsemanship and the desire to help horses reach their full potential is what inspired me to become a trainer.
3. Which horse riding discipline do you enjoy? My passion lies in the Western discipline, particularly Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle. I love the precision, elegance, and connection required in both classes.
4. How long have you been involved in Quarter horses? I’ ve been involved with Quarter Horses my entire life. My family has been breeding them for over 50 years, so they’ ve always been a part of who I am and what I do.
5. What and who has inspired you the most as a trainer / rider? That’ s an easy question— my biggest inspirations have been my mum, my husband Kyle Mobberley, and now our daughter Dana. Each of them has shaped and motivated me in different ways throughout my journey as a trainer and rider. been watching my daughter grow into a confident and skilled horsewoman. Seeing her develop the same passion and dedication makes everything even more meaningful.
9. What are your future plans or goals with training & showing? My future plans are to take a step back from the spotlight and embrace my new role as a show mum— though let’ s keep that between us and don ' t tell Kyle lol.
10. What other interests / hobbies do you enjoy or have? My family is my greatest passion, so there isn’ t much time for other hobbies. That said, I’ d love to travel across the country someday and explore new places.
11. Any items in your tack room you just can’ t do without? There are two essential items in my tack room I simply can’ t do without: a snaffle bridle and a good saddle.
12. Hardest part of the job? The hardest part of the job is working seven days a week and often missing out on other events.
6. How long have you been competing / training? I’ ve been competing for over 40 years and have spent the past 27 years dedicated to training. It’ s been a lifelong passion that continues to drive me every day.
7. Best advice you could give to someone starting out? The best advice I can give someone starting out is to attend shows, observe experienced trainers, and don’ t be afraid to ask for help. There’ s so much to learn just by watching and listening, and the right guidance can make all the difference.
