One Time Blues , or affectionately known as Katie , was named after the UK royal , Princess Kate . Greg says , “ true to her namesake , she has a lovely , kind nature ”.
Katie , is sired by the great USA-based stallion , One Time Royalty , which is owned by SDM Quarter Horses , Australia .
He is an earner of $ 447,543 , and the 2010 NCHA Open Futurity Champion ( USA ) and is the sire of money-earners in excess of $ 3.5M . Her dam , Chisums Blue Spin , known as Bluey , was purchased from Corey Holden , as a yearling . She was sired by RS Chisum , and out of the Doc ’ s Spinifex mare , Cash ’ s Spin .
Bluey also had an impressive cutting career , before she retired to the Clearview Quarter Horses broodmare barn . Winning the Open Cutting at the 2018 Victorian Futurity , she also won two Open Derbies , two Open Classics and the Deb Elliott Memorial Mare Stakes in 2018 to name a few .
Katie was broken in by Ian Stringer ’ s son , Caleb . He did a great job and had her for a little while to put some miles on her . After that she was sent to Corey Holden , who originally started her on cattle and set her up for the 2022 Futurity .
