2026 REINING QLD STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW WRAP-UP
This year’ s Queensland State Show marked an exciting milestone as the first major event under the new Reining Queensland banner, held in March at the spectacular Queensland State Equestrian Centre from 24 to 28 March 2026.
The week began with a few showers, but overall, the weather was very kind if not a little warm at times setting the stage for a fantastic show that proved to be one not to miss. The week kicked off with a twoday clinic hosted by Warren Backhouse and John Wicks, where riders worked in small groups to prepare for the competition ahead. The Committee is extremely grateful for their continued dedication, sponsorship, and support, with all proceeds from the clinic going directly toward Championship prize money.
Competition got underway on Tuesday with the Any Handed class following the clinic, drawing an impressive 40 runs. Wednesday featured the Senior and Junior Horse Open and Non-Pro classes under the capable eye of judge Steve Withers. Tyler Smith and
