Entitled To Intimidate Q-97855 and Angy at the Q25 Nationals
FOR MANY HORSE LOVERS, THE PASSION BEGINS WITH A SINGLE UNFORGETTABLE HORSE. FOR ONE DEDICATED QUARTER HORSE EXHIBITOR, THAT MOMENT CAME WHEN SHE ENCOUNTERED A CALM, VERSATILE AND STRIKINGLY HANDSOME QUARTER HORSE AT THE AGISTMENT PROPERTY WHERE SHE KEPT HER HORSES.“ I WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY HIS TALENT FOR MANY DISCIPLINES AND HIS LOVELY CALM DEMEANOUR,” ANGY RECALLS.“ PLUS, HE WAS SUPER HANDSOME.”
Raised around horses from an early age, her equestrian background was far from conventional. Her father bred and raced Standardbred pacers, and lessons were never part of the equation. If she wanted to ride, she simply had to catch a horse from the paddock and go.
“ I’ m a terrible rider,” Angy laughs.“ And as I’ ve aged, I’ ve lost a lot of confidence.”
But discovering the world of halter showing opened an entirely new door. The ability to compete and enjoy Quarter Horses without the pressure of riding instantly captured her interest, and it wasn’ t long before the breed became a lifelong passion.
Like many Quarter Horse enthusiasts, her journey was fuelled by admiration for exceptional bloodlines. After spotting the stallion Tribulation Q-57226 advertised in Horse Deals, she began searching for one of his progeny and was fortunate enough to purchase TPL Gravitation Q-75241.
Under the guidance of Ashley Welsh, she learned the ropes of halter showing, and together they enjoyed years of success in the show pen.
Although she later owned and exhibited several other Quarter Horses, none truly captured her heart in quite the same way until the arrival of the stunning imported mare I’ m Entitled Too. Determined to produce something truly special, she and a close circle of friends carefully selected DMB Intimidator Q-57381 as the ideal cross.
The result exceeded every expectation.
“ When my foal arrived, I was ecstatic,” Angy says.“ She had four white socks and a stripe on her face. From day one she was sweet and curious.”
That foal would become Entitled To Intimidate Q-97855, affectionately known as Vera Samantha, a mare who would go on to become not only a show ring standout, but a treasured companion.
