AQHA PRESIDENT REPORT- RICKY GLEN
Dear Members,
Firstly, congratulations to you all for attending Q26 and I hope it was a successful show for you all. All of the reports I have heard have been great with the management of the show ensuring it was run well and without incident. To our judges and everyone involved, a big thank you from the AQHA Board of Directors for making this another outstanding National Show.
Also a big thank you to our sponsors for your support of Q26 as your sponsorship goes a long way to running a successful show.
The AQHA Youth Division is gearing up to put together another outstanding youth auction so I thank the sponsors of the auction items for their support of the AQHA youth in there fundraising efforts. New Zealand has indicated it will host the next Trans Tasman event so look out for the details after they are posted in the near future. AQHA international director, Kim Johnson has been working with other countries to see what is to happen with the next youth World Cup as Italy has pulled out there bid to run it. We will continue to monitor this and will release details to members on future negotiations as they take place.
Nutrien Equine has just run there annual Supreme sale of Quarter Horses and Australian Stock Horses in Toowoomba which was an outstanding success for our breed. Quarter Horses topped the sale with Spin Mia
Round Q-98959, a mare by RBH Fully Loaded Q-85587 bringing $ 100,000 and the top priced broodmare was Metalena Q-80359 sired by Metallic Cat Q-72828 making $ 70,000 and Serene Metallic Cat A2-4633 topping the yearling fillies at $ 45,000. Overall, the sale grossed over 10 million dollars so congratulations to our AQHA members who sold and brought some outstanding horses.
The NPHA is about to kick off as this goes to print and once again it will showcase some of the finest Quarter Horses in the country.
The NCHA Futurity will feature again the richest cutting horse show to be held in Australia and again, the Australian Quarter Horse will take centre stage and once again, a Futurity Champion will be crowned at this prestige ' s event.
Due dates for breeding returns and horse registrations will close on the 31st of May this year so please get these in before time. Memberships are also due on the 1st of August this year so again, get your renewal done early so your show points will start for the new show year.
