Both Brian and I have been around horses all our lives, and we have each dedicated time to our passion for horses, particularly the Western breeds,’ Anne explains.‘ Brian raced Quarter Horses at Calder Park Raceway during the vibrant 1980s. As a child, I thoroughly enjoyed showing Palouse Ponies with my family. I owned Paint Horses for many years, but for the past four years, we’ ve also focused on showing Quarter Horses.’

The most recent addition to Anne and Brian’ s show team is the beautiful AQHA chestnut filly, LR Hear Em Whisper, also known as Molly. It’ s no secret that they’ ve been enjoying some great success with her over the last 12 months. Before they purchased Molly, they’ d shown several Halter horses, all now part of their broodmare band. They first saw Molly being shown as a yearling, and say it was hard not to fall in love with her looks, and when she came up for sale, they bought her.
The couple had looked into Molly’ s breeding, and were more than impressed with her pedigree. Foaled in 2021, Molly is by JVQ Grandiose Q-91133, and out of LR Whisper My Name Q-75856, sired by The Resolution Q-62948( IMP / Dec.).
‘ There’ s a lot of great Halter bloodlines there,’ Anne says.‘ We already have a couple of offspring by The Resolution( Imp / Dec) and we really love them. So, the fact that The Resolution is Molly’ s grandsire was another strong reason for us to purchase her. From the moment Molly arrived home, she quickly became a much-loved member of the family. We found her temperament to be exceptional, and she has a delightful personality. She thrives on attention and has impeccable behaviour. She gets along well with our other horses, and we’ ve had no issues with her. This has made life on the property with our horses so enjoyable!’
When traveling, Anne says that Molly likes to look out the window of the float, and obviously enjoys the breeze.
‘ She’ s been a great pleasure to take along to shows. She doesn’ t make a fuss and is a joy to prepare! Incredibly relaxed, she can often be found napping while waiting for her classes. In the arena, Molly is a dream to show, and we love taking her out to compete. We’ ve only owned her for 12 months, and so far, we are extremely happy with everything she has accomplished in that short time.’
