PRESIDENT REPORT 2024
RICKY GLEN - PRESIDENT CATTLE & TIMED EVENTS PORTFOLIO
Dear Members ,
Well the 2024 nationals are done and dusted , huge entries had us going to a second judge that the board approved without hesitation and the rest is history . I would like to thank the members for supporting the nationals in the way they did , by all reports it was well received and most had a successful show , even those who did not make the winners circle gave glowing reports of the show and I must thank the show team and those who helped out over the time to ensure it was a great success .
There will be a de brief for the board at the June board meeting so we can set in motion planning for the 2025 nationals well in advance .
The cutting entries were huge with 150 pre works on the Friday and this was followed by two full days of cutting with up to 55 horses in some classes .
The reports on the show on face book were increased this year with the marketing team in full swing and I am sure this will further increase in 2025 .
I look forward to bringing you updates on things to come for the 2025 Nationals .
The new rule book will come out this year with all rule changes in place and each financial member will receive their new book . As always , this will also be available on our web site as well .
The 2024 / 25 youth committee will be elected shortly and the youth had a successful auction held at the Nationals with over $ 7000.00 being raised .
Please support the upcoming youth stallion auction coming up to raise further monies for programs to support the AQHA youth , if you would like to donate a breeding to your stallion , contact the office or the youth convenor Liz Keating direct .
Budgets will be set for the 2024 / 25 year at the June board meeting as well so the portfolio holders will be putting forward their wish lists for endorsement by the board .
Don ’ t forget that breeding returns and registrations are due as of 31st May this year so get them in on time to avoid penalties .
Also please update date any tests that are required on your stallions or mares of breeding age , if your unsure what tests are outstanding on your horses , please contact the office direct .
The free Amateur clinics sponsored by the AQHA Amateur division have been well supported with these being held in most states of Australia .
The Pro Horseman division of the AQHA have also been active in having clinics for their members and this will continue into 2025 .
The AQHA Judges division will be hosting a seminar in Victoria coming up with the last one being held in Qld which was a great success .
In closing , I would like to again thank the AQHA board in the support they have given me and its through our reports to members which I intend to keep you all well informed what ’ s going on .
