performances in the cutting pen.
Playgun’s success in the show
pen spanned six years with 21 Aged
Event Champion and Reserve
Championships and over $186,000
in earnings. He was the NCHA
High Money earning four-year-old
Cutting Horse in 1996. The same
year he entered the breeding barn
and stood to a full book of mares.
Playgun spent the last few years
under the excellent care of
Hartman Equine Reproductive
Service and staff. Dr. Hartman has
been there since the beginning of
Playgun’s breeding career and been
responsible for the health and wellbeing of this great stallion. Thank
you also Cathy Nogueira and Darby
Dorman for your dedication during
the very busy years at the ranch.
He will be missed by many of us,
but fondly remembered through his
offspring.

QUARTER
HORSES said
farewell to their
stunning young
stallion
QXH Hot N Dreamy,
due to a tragic
paddock accident.
This young stallion had already
proven his worth as a prepotent
sire, with his first foals successfully
competing in the show pen.
He will be sadly missed by
owners Wayne and Pam Jones of
CLAIRVEAUX Stud.
A big thank you all those that have
sent messages, texts and phoned, to
offer support.
And most of all, thank you Playgun It’s been a great ride!

Iron Age
Q-68405
Iron Age was euthanized on
January 14, 2016 following
complications from colic
surgery. “Clark” showed
signs of colic last Friday
and underwent surgery at
The Ohio State Veterinary
Medical Center that morning.
Unfortunately he showed no
signs of improvement in the
days following surgery and the
difficult decision was made to
euthanise him.
He will be missed by the
students, faculty and staff
that had the opportunity to
work with and learn from him.
A limited amount of frozen
semen will be made available
to outside mares in 2016 and
2017
