What’ s your name, age and where are you from? Ella Rhind, 16, NSW Australia
How did you first get involved with horses? Growing up I was always surrounded by horses, my nan owning many horses is what got me involved and made me fall in love with horses. Before I could walk I was sitting on a horse and from there my love of horses and riding became such an important part of my life.
When did you join AQHA and what inspired you to become a member? I joined AQHA in 2023 after first watching my nans yearlings compete and from there I began falling in love with the western pleasure world. When going to shows I realised being apart of the AQHA means more than showing, its about being around like minded people and the love for horses.
What does being part of AQHA mean to you? Being a part of AQHA is being part of a family, a community of people who support each other and are all deeply connected by their love for horses. Being a part of AQHA is making connections and memories that last a lifetime more than just showing up to shows. Meeting the people who run the shows, people who ride it creates such amazing relationships and chances to socialise.
YOUR HORSE JOURNEY Tell us about your current horse / s – names, breeding and personalities. My mares name is Hope. Her breeding is Winderadeen Cee The Babe to VS Code Red. Hope has a beautiful temperament, always looking after who ' s riding her and will give you her all in the show ring and out of it. She loves doing ranch patterns and any pattern classes. I got her over a year ago and she has taught me so much about showing and training.
