Across both nights, packed grandstands, emotional victories and razor-thin margins reinforced the Nutrien Classic’ s reputation as the premier event on the Australian campdraft calendar, where performance horses, riders and the wider industry converge.
2026 NUTRIEN CLASSIC SALE DELIVERS RECORD SETTING RESULT FOR
PERFORMANCE HORSE INDUSTRY
The 2026 Nutrien Classic Sale delivered the strongest result in the event’ s history, reflecting the depth, confidence, and long-term strength of the Australian performance horse industry. Across the entire catalogue, 602 of 680 lots sold, achieving a clearance rate of 88.53 %. At the time of reporting, the sale had achieved a gross of $ 18,244,000 with an average of $ 30,305.65, with results still subject to final confirmation as post-sale negotiations continue.
Importantly, the 2026 result reflects the integration of horses offered at the Nutrien Equine Masters Sale into the Classic catalogue. Even with this structural change, the overall gross exceeded the combined Classic and Masters figures from the previous two years, marking the highest grossing Nutrien Classic Sale to date.
The Nutrien Classic Sale also displayed great results with the geldings, Lot 113 No Moore Reyn Q-86170 led the category, achieving $ 105,000 as the Highest Selling Gelding of the sale. An emotional sale for Lach and Bec Sim from Holbrook, NSW. No Moore Reyn Q-86170 will be heading home with the team from Corbould Oakdene, NSW.
Strong clearance rates across all categories underscored sustained buyer confidence throughout the sale, with particular demand for well-prepared young horses showcasing proven bloodlines and clear commercial appeal. The results reflected a discerning yet active marketplace, where quality, presentation, and pedigree continue to drive competition and reinforce the strength of the equine industry.
