BIG VALLEY QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION HOSTED THE 2023 VICTORIAN STATE QUARTER HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW IN DECEMBER AT THE AMAZING BENALLA SPORTS AND EQUESTRIAN CENTRE , FROM THE 7TH-12TH DECEMBER 2023 . A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM FOR A VERY SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND .

The show achieved some great entries with over 130 classes across the four big days . There were 122 competitors ranging from ages 6 to 82 . The competitors traveled from many states some as far away as Queensland , New South Wales , Western Australia , Tasmania and South Australia . The show was judged by Chris Brown from Montana USA , and also a local judge Barb Vial who scored the Dressage and Ridden Hack Classes .

A successful show cannot run without valued sponsors , we would like to send a big thank you to all the Sponsors that made the 2023 Victorian State Quarter Horse Championship Show a great success . Following the Halter was the Showmanship Classes , winners were Icee Zipper Blues Q70321 and Tayla Rabig taking out the senior youth . Shadow Valleys Moonshine Q90054 and Lara McEachern taking home the junior
youth championship . Amateur Champion was Triandibo Flamindelux Q93893 and Liz Christian , Reserve was Triandibo Inshekarismatic Q74121 and Danielle Philpots- Green . Select Amateur was Ceein Radical Q71616 and Tracy Atkins and Reserve was Annlee Been Waitin On Me Q96469 and Annie Boyd . Novice Amateur Champion was awarded to DP Best Red Machine Q94288 and Sarah Appleton . EWD Showmanship Champion was Shadow Valleys Im Titanium Q81981 and Lily Fisher , second went to Whizz Me To Hollywood Q85354 and Bree Lornie , and third was Triandibo In She Natural Q66105 and Bianca Ulett .
The afternoon started with the Lunge Line Classes and Hunter In Hand . The second and over class being the biggest class for the day , 16 horses with the eventual winner being Triandibo Dynamic In Red Q98782 and Lynda Cavallo , and Reserve Champion went to Oh So Priceless A23828 and Jade Spicer . The afternoon continued with Walk Jog and Trail Classes .
Day two started with more Trail followed by Horsemanship and WesternPleasure which were all well contested . On day three everyone geared up in their Hunter Under Saddle outfits , and then a wardrobe change into Ranch . The final day of the show was the Dressage and Hacking in the indoor and in the outdoor arena the Ranch Versatility .
