“ I was introduced to the world of Cutting by my husband , Brenden when we first met . Attending a few clinics with Ronny Mann and Ian Francis to start with , and I progressed onto trying Reined Cow Horse and continually wanting to get better ,” says Callie . The couple attends around ten events per year , including State Shows and Nationals for the AQHA and enjoys supporting their local clubs .
Callie ’ s current competition Horses are ‘ Smokin Dual Badger ’ aka ‘ Badger ’ by Rey ’ s Dual Badger , her oldest competition horse at 12 years young . “ He was a mustering horse for Brenden in his younger days until I started to have a bit of fun with him at clinics and snaffle bit competitions .” Eight year old Gelding ‘ Purrfect Rey ’ aka ‘ Duck ’ is by DuckRey and started as Brenden ’ s cutting horse until he got himself a younger one to break in and run out of time .

“ Brenden claims that I steal his good horses … I still maintain that he sacks them for the new ones coming through . We ’ ve gone back to ‘ DuckRey ’ for breeding ; both of us tend to like the ‘ Dual Reys ’. I ’ m also a fan of ‘ Bet Hesa Cat ’ as I have a now 3 yr old gelding by him ; Kevin is a lot of fun ! Brenden has also had a lot of luck with breeding to ‘ Peptos Stylish Oak ,’ Callie says .
Since Callie ’ s introduction to the Cutting & Cowhorse Industry , it ’ s no surprise her achievements have been forthcoming through her dedication and quest to learn .
