FOR YOU , Jerry . . .

‘ Jerry , I ’ ll be forever grateful that you - Quixotes Lil Wimpy - came into my life .
I ’ ve only been Reining for 5 years , but we fast became a team . You helped me propel from Beginner to a competitive Non-Pro ! Prepared for your 3yo Futurity by John Wicks , you were owned and shown then , by Robyn Ross . You were sold on , but ending up coming to me as a 4yo . Four years on & you ’ ve been perfect for me to learn Reining on . You ’ re an honest , forgiving , no-fuss horse & I love owning you ! I know I missed cues in our early showing years , but you ’ d just continue on , regardless . You looked after me and you ’ ve been pleasure to show . Rick used to call you Jesus Christ , because he said you were always forgiving me . Now , I can ride you into the pen knowing you ’ ll give your all , if I just let you do your job .
That feeling when you lock onto our circles-my favourite manoeuver-I lay my hand down and we run . . . then rate back to a small slow . I love the rundown and sliding stop with you , and your flowing mane , tail and forelock makes the other competitors call you ‘ Barbie ’ when we show . But I ’ ll gladly spend the time on the TLC it takes to look after that part of you . Jerry , you ’ ve played a huge part in teaching me to become a confident rider and I ’ ve learned to trust a horse more . You even made a mistake here and there , but then let me train on you . But you ’ re the horse that ’ s made me excited and passionate about moving forward in Reining . So Jerry- I ’ ve bought another Reiner . Not Ruf Whiz Me , known as Ruby , is a mare I ’ m doing most of the work with , and I hope to show her a lot more . You ’ re two very horses , at different levels , and I love working with you both . But you , Jerry , are an awesome horse & I can ’ t wait until we ’ re all on the road to rein again in 2022 .
P . S . ‘ I promise never to girth you up too tight .’
