did not want to take her eyes off him ! She just had to have him , and needed to find out who the owner was , and enquire whether they ’ d be interested in selling him . He was exactly what she ’ d been looking for and it just so happened that his breeder , Glenys Ham , was at the show .
‘ I was really happy to finally speak to Glenys at the end of show . I found out that the colt , Glenlock Armani Code , Q-80797 , had just been leased out to another competitor . When I told Glenys how I felt , we talked about the sale of the colt after the end of the current lease , and thankfully , everything worked out the way I ’ d hoped it would . I was able to purchase Tommy as a yearling , and make arrangements to collect him from the Queensland State Show , the following year .’

Tommy , who is sired by Sir Cool Skippin , Q-57945 and out of Glenlock Cool Class , Q-57823 , spent the first 12 months with Robyn , growing up in the paddock with Robyn ’ s other horses & some of the Edgar ’ s cows . Tommy was a big youngster , but quite gangly along with his size , so Robyn made the decision that it would be best to wait until he was a 3yo to break him in .
‘ I think it was a great decision , and one that paid off . Tommy was amazing to watch in the paddock . Not only did he seem to float along , he possessed the most amazing cadence , rhythm & balance . So , I was excited for the day I would have him under saddle . All I ’ d have to do was encourage it and contain it all that goodness ! We had a couple of guys who worked for us at the time , and they did the first ride on him , but after that , it ’ s just been Tommy and I ever since !
