On Thursday 25th March we welcomed our Judges , Teish Andrea and Jeff Hall , into the ring to commence the All Breeds Pre-State Show . Although the number of competitors was slightly less than anticipated , we were nevertheless happy and grateful to those who made the effort to attend , especially those of our interstate competitors who regularly make the trip across to join us .
PG . 37
The day commenced with Hunter In Hand and Showmanship , before moving on to the Halter category , which was followed by Lunge line . After the lunchbreak we moved onto the English events , Hunter under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation after which we smoothly navigated through our Western events .
Friday midday saw us commence Day 1 of the Quarter Horse State Show with the non-traditional style English classes ; Dressage , Hack and Hunter events , capably judged by our EA judge Cathy Young , who voiced her opinion on how thoroughly she enjoyed being in the presence of such talented horses & riders . Winners in the Dressage classes were Rachel Elliott riding Designed in Gold and Janet Mansley on HL Theodore . Champion Show Hunter was again Janet Mansley on Designed by The Prophet and Reserve was Jaci McEvoy on Electric Blue .
Friday evening competitors and committee enjoyed the consistently popular roast dinner , and although we had a fun night of bingo planned for the evenings entertainment , the event of purely gathering as a show family once again proved satisfactory for all involved , where we could enjoy the social aspect once more , sharing laughs & making memories .
On Saturday , the ever popular Mr Glen Wyse was our Judge ; however not without incident . Part way through the day we were advised that our interstate judges – and those of us in contact with them – had to leave immediately for a covid test and then remain at a distant from all other persons until a clear result was returned . This of course caused a great deal of confusion and the show was held up for some considerable time while our steward took Glen to have the test . Fortunately , we were able to continue whilst ensuring that all possible measures were maintained amongst all personnel . The results fortunately were all negative .
Ranch Riding started the day , blitzing through her performances on her self-trained horse Electric Blue , Select Amateur Jaci McEvoy had a great start to the Cindy Brennan & Crackerlackin Q-71478
