Hi Fellow Amateur Team Members Hello Fellow Amateurs
These words still linger in our thoughts and affect everything we plan or want to achieve - COVID 19 . Finally , some States are returning to the Show Pen , competing and socializing . Sadly , some States are still in lockdown , but hopefully border restrictions will be lifted for the Christmas holidays .
Thank you for the Amateurs that completed the Amateur Division Survey . All feedback has been sent to the AQHA , as we value your opinions and recommendations . Here is a brief overview of your suggestion .
Q18 What would you like done for the AQHA Amateurs ?
• Amateur / Youth only show was a lot of fun & educational , maybe more of these .
• Clinics held just for amateurs .
• In order to keep people showing I think that higher prize money needs to be considered to entice more competitors as and if enough maybe another level of amateur event for amateurs that don ’ t have their horses full time with a trainer .
• subsidised clinics or a subsided single / group lesson with their nominated trainer
• More recognition of their contribution to the industry
• This year especially a discount on membership
• Offer incentives & events in regional areas , i . e . Far North Qld
• Recognize owner trainer rider
• Maybe some free online training sessions or webinars
• Mock shows with judges advising what they look for
• Affordable clinics and videos of judges scoring at shows
• More clinics and Amateur Shows
• Senior select would be good
• Having classes for older select amateurs .
• Ranch Versatility classes in WA
• Classes for horses that are not trained by professional trainers
