This background in Rodeo complements his leatherworking . “ I ’ ve made chaps for a lot of years , mostly from word of mouth . I thought it was about time I got a bit serious and make a Facebook page and show the world what my version of what quality Australian made leather work is ,” Jarrod stated .
Jarrod created his Facebook page in 2017 , and little did he know that what started out as a hobby , would become a page growing in prestige , with the wonders of social media showcasing his work .
The Tamworth based craftsman has quite an eye for detail , hand making items such as chaps , wallets , belts , knife pouches , head collars , hobbles , spur straps , tooled rope canisters , diary covers , bull rope pads , shoes , and just about everything else !
However , understandably , the original Singer sewing machine couldn ’ t keep up with the workload , and is now having a well earned rest . In July this year , Jarrod “ Bit the bullet ” and bought himself a brand new cowboy 204 walking foot machine . “ Best choice I ever made , makes life a lot easier ,” Jarrod said .
When searching for quality handmade leather products , hop on Jarrod ’ s Facebook page ‘ Hunts Chap Shack ’ to see his beautiful craftsmanship . Get in touch , Christmas is only around the corner , and he books out early . F
