BORN in 1965 , Beggar Bingo was by the Leo bred stallion “ Leo Bingo ” ( AAA , NCHA money earner , AQHA Champion , AQHA Supreme Halter Horse ). He was out of “ Jubalon ”.

He was bred by Art Shahan of Pleasanton , Texas and was owned and campaigned by him until his sale to Winderadeen . He achieved his AQHA Champion status in America , earning his points in Cutting and Western Pleasure .

Beggar Bingo was imported to Australia by Winderadeen , arriving in 1970 to become the foundation sire of this wellknown stud . He was probably one of the first horses to arrive in this country with such performance accreditation to his name .
Beggar Bingo was campaigned at halter where he achieved many awards including Champion Stallion at Sydney Royal Show in 1973 and 1974 . In the mid 1970 ’ s he was shown in Cutting events where he was awarded many placings and wins , earning NCHA Certificates of Merit , Achievement and Ability as well as an AQHA Register of Merit for Cutting .

As a sire , Beggar Bingo has proven outstanding , being a consistent producer of top class performance horses and of great broodmares . Some of his most memorable offspring are : -
• Kay Bingo – Supreme Halter Exhibit at the first AQHA Championship . She has gone on to become one of the greatest dams of pleasure horses in the country with her foals by Jet Boom winning many major events and High Point awards .
• Bingo ’ s Melody – four times Grand Champion mare at the AQHA National Championships . AQHA and Logan
Insurances Western Pleasure Series Triple Crown winner has also gone on to be a top broodmare . One of her foals , Winderadeen Bingo ’ s Harmony , was the top 1997 Two Year Old Western Pleasure Horse .
• Capricorn Bingo ’ s Lindy - has the unique credit of having won the Moonbi Cutting Futurity and the All Australian Sprint Race Futurity in the same year .
• Bo-Kay - three times High point horse at the Nationals in 1989 , Stud Book Performance Horse of the Year and has produced a National Champion Hunter Under Saddle .
• Other memorable progeny were Winderadeen Bojet , A Okay , Winderadeen Fair Bid , Honey Bingo , Bingos Leoki , Instant Sunshine , TH Minnis Ballerina are just a few of his GET who have been outstanding performers . Horses like Driftwood Bingo , who is one of the few stallions by him in this country , have also been top producers .
In 1989 Beggar Bingo was the Runner-up Leading sire of Performance Horses for the AQHA after he had been dead for three years . He has been the AQHA leading maternal grandsire of AQHA champions for the past few years , and Beggar Bingo mares feature prominently every year in the leading dams of point earning horses nationwide for the AQHA .
He is the maternal grandsire of such great horses as : -
• Cagie Boom – AQHA Champion .
• Riskay Boom – AQHA Champion .
• Coalminers Daughter – top cutting mare .
• Golden Pepper – two times High Point Halter Gelding of Australia and a top Amateur horse .
He has produced winners in every field of Western performance as well as producing hacks , eventers and dressage horses . His progeny have been extremely popular with the Rodeo fraternity as timed event horses and rope horses where they have excelled . J
