THE Morgan family , who live outside Grafton , NSW , are having a great time with their horses . Karen and Allan Morgan , with their children , Jessica , Erin , Kimberley & Tom run Yoorana Performance Horses from their beef cattle property and stand two resident AQHA sires , Yoorana Copper Acres and Braunstone Oak . They not only breed AQHA and ASH horses that are used for work on the property , but compete successfully in Campdrafts , Challenges and Cattle events .
ess & Erin Morgan began like most young country kids-riding horses at home and then attending the local pony club . Competing on good horses , they had great success , and younger siblings , Kim and Tom eventually followed in their footsteps . By the time the girls were in High School the Morgans had become interested in Campdrafting , Barrel Racing and Stock Horse events , making the annual pilgrimage to the Junior Rodeos , in Gloucester , Wingham and Nabiac , and also attended many of the local Campdrafts , Stock Horse and Agricultural shows .
Karen had always liked the idea of breeding their own horses , with the kids training and competing on something they ’ d worked themselves , so the family began buying a broodmare here and there .
‘ With our help ,’ Karen begins . ‘ The plan was for the girls to handle and break in the resulting progeny , and then compete on them or sell them .
