CHESHIRE CAT Q-77910

AQHA HIGHEST PRICED SALE HORSE AT THE NUTRIEN SALE
IT ’ S NOT EVERY DAY YOU WALK INTO THE SALE PEN AND SELL THE TOP-PRICED LOT OF THE NUTRIEN CLASSIC SALE .

What a massive achievement

for Emily Poole and the entire team at Rocking P Performance Horses on the sale of this extraordinary Metallic Cat mare , CHESIRE CAT Q-77910 who sold for $ 170,000.00 to the Jones Family Trust in Katherine N . T .
The 8yo mare , bred in the purple , commenced her training in Cutting with Trent Smith at just 18 months old . The mare came home for a spell and had been sitting in the paddock , never actually commencing a Cutting career . Leah Read had prepared three mares the previous year for RPPH and came to live on the property at Haigslea to prepare nine horses for the Nutrien Sale .
Leah spent four months training the mare and took Cheshire Cat to her first competition in November last year , the Toowoomba Open Snaffle bit . They certainly turned heads when the mare went to work ; Cat was interested in the cattle all the time . The pair certainly made the team and won the class with a 149 - this made them the highest-scoring lady rider over the week !
Emily described the mare ‘ as the full package , a very trainable mare with the right mindset that ticks all the boxes .’ The mare is at the right age to go either into Cutting or Campdrafting . Cheshire will have a well-earned rest in Tamworth before making the journey to her new home in Katherine , NT .
We look forward to seeing her performance at the big three Campdrafts later this year with Cristina .
“ She was an exceptional mare and hard to let go , but she has gone to a fantastic home with the Jones Family ,” Emily said . Rocking P Performance Horses will offer her ½ sister at next year ’ s sale , the now 3yo will have 12 months training with Leah Read .
