Between , during and after the continuing , ongoing , relentless , seemingly endless onslaughts of rain , many horse owners are counting their losses and celebrating tales of survival .

Lots of rain = lots of health hazards . Flooded paddocks , horses cut-off from each other or trapped in flooding paddocks , loss of shelter , drinking water contaminated , fences down and tangled wire , lots of biting insects , skin conditions , no grass or lots of green grass and wet ground . When these collide and combine it creates huge demands and stresses for our horses and for us . Let ’ s take a look at some of the hazards and ways to help relieve them .
