HE ALSO HOPES TO BE A FUTURE ROLE MODEL TO OTHER YOUTH , PARTICULARLY BOYS , WHO WISH TO TRY THE SPORT . WITH SUCH A WONDERFUL OUTLOOK , RYAN IS WELL ON THE WAY !

THE AQHA Youth , Ryan Mundy , 14 , is the youngest of five children and lives on a superfine Merino sheep and commercial cattle farm at Carlton River , in South Eastern Tasmania . The family lives near the water , in a beautiful area known as the Southern Beaches . Ryan has spent his life with animals and when he ’ s not spending time with them , he ’ s at school , or at the beach .

He started riding before turning two , with his Mum , Jacinta , leading him on their mini-pony , Splash . He was later given Rocky , a cute , grey Welsh Mountain Pony , for his 6th birthday . Ryan says he loves his two role models , one , his 16yo brother , Sebastian , and the other , his Mum , Jacinta Young .
‘ My brother ’ s a great rider and is as passionate about showing as I am ,’ Ryan begins . ‘ He ’ s very supportive of me with riding and managing our horses and I really admire his horsemanship skills . Mum is the kindest and most generous person I know . She ’ s always there for me and has always supported and encouraged me with everything , and with my horse riding . She ’ s been the best thing in my life , and has helped me in so many ways . I hope she knows how much I appreciate her .’
