INVOLVED A LOT WITH HORSES .
HER GRANDFATHER HAD A COUPLE OF TROTTERS , A GREAT UNCLE HAD RACEHORSES , BUT
HER MUM WAS PETRIFIED OF HORSES . LOVING HORSES FROM
AFAR , READING RACETRACK AND HOOF & HORNS MAGAZINES , WATCHING OLD WESTERNS ,
SHARON ONLY LEARNT TO RIDE IN HER LATE TEENS .

Having been involved in the industry and the WAQHA / AQHA for around 25 years and Secretary of WAQHA for the last season , Sharon has seen some ups and downs and some fads come and go , but she wouldn ’ t change it for the world .

Sharon first competed in unofficial hacking , then found western . “ I attended a show in WA many years ago and watched Shane Massingham riding Colonels Gold and thought , wow , I want to do that . I attempted to turn my off the track Thoroughbred into a western horse , meeting Dawn Holliday and my journey started from there . I had a mini mid life crisis around 30 and had lessons with an A grade showjumper and was going to purchase a jumper . Then I got a job in the country , met my hubby and western just seemed to stick ,” recalls Sharon .
Bullsbrook WA is home for Sharon , she works as a Clinical Social Worker in St John of God Subiaco Private Hospital — working with patients regarding
