We were nearly blown away! By the great response to our Northern Victorian QHA 50th Anniversary Medallion Show, and yes, it was very windy.
It was great to have some of the original foundation and life members of the club back and being able to chat with them about the past. Much of the written and photographic history of the club was lost in the 2011 floods so it was good to be able to refresh memories, or to even fill in large gaps that we did not know anything about. Past youth members, members, competitors, foun-dation members who started with the idea of a club, past committee members, they were all there and it was great to see them sharing old times.
We had gone through the old photos and tried to put names to faces for display on the weekend. It was lovely to see the people who were competing back then recognise who was in the old photos, sometimes identifying them and adding the names. The committee and club members of Northern Victorian QHA worked hard to make sure that the grounds and buildings were looking their best for the celebration, including replacing the posts on one of the last sections of the red gum arena fence.
