then Reserve Champion Halter Gelding , and Kid took out State Champion Performance Gelding , and then Grand Champion Performance Gelding . We had an incredible show ! Scorsey ’ s only just begun his show journey — his second year in the Halter pen with amazing results . He ’ s still maturing , so I believe he can only get better and continue to be competitive . I plan to introduce Scorsey to Trail , Western Riding , Western Horsemanship and Ranch Riding . Scorsey is a delight , with a wonderful temperament , and we have a strong bond .‘

ROUTINE YOUR WAY TO ACHIEVEMENTS !
“ To perfect our Halter presentation , I ’ ve learned from many dedicated competitors . My preparation is consistently routine , and it begins well before show day , with a balanced diet , dedicated work schedules , and time put in . Grooming , clipping , hoof care , and appropriate rugging are essential . I band the boys the night before any show , because nervousness hits on show day , and I don ’ t want to miss classes . Early on show morning , Kid ’ s always prepared first , with black and white leg make-up applied . Tails are put in , then face make-up and hoof paint are applied ! Attention to detail is paramount . Once they ’ re ready to go , I get myself ready , my presentation complimenting my horse . I fit the show halters correctly , and off we go ! Being gracious and courteous to other competitors is crucial , no matter the outcome of classes .”

Kellie says her major achievements were not only possible due to drive , hard work , dedication and hitting goals — behind her are many very special people , and they know who they are !
‘ John , the special person in my life , is wonderful , inspiring and at my side , every show . His love and support encourages me completely . My beautiful family do so much for me , and my dear friends support and encourage . I love them all dearly . Uncle Kev , an amazing horseman and my wonderful role model , was loved by many , but sadly passed from cancer in 2011 . He holds a special place in my heart , and would have loved our achievements .’
Kellie says that the dedication , passion and love that goes into training , preparation and competition for any show , regardless whether it ’ s Halter or Performance classes , results in true enjoyment .
‘ Halter is a great event and I think everyone should have a go at it . There ’ s so much help and advice out there . A dear friend said to me —‘ Just roll the dice - you need to be in it !— I ’ m blessed to have Yella Oak and Undisputable Score , and look forward to showing them into the future .’
