2024 NCHA 4CYTE Open Futurity Champion - Corey Holden and ‘ Metaloo ’ Q-101675
“ Looking back , Max McTaggart helped me from the beginning to always try to produce a cow horse and that ’ s something that ’ s stuck with me and helped me . The sport ’ s refined over the years but it ’ s still about training a real cow horse and that ’ s what Max always wanted us to do . I ’ ve also had a lot of help from Paul and Winston Hansma during the time I ’ ve spent in the States , and I ’ ve been lucky enough to spend some time with Lloyd Cox over there , who has always inspired me with what he can do . John Mitchell and Clint Allen have been a big help too , they ’ re people that you can ring and throw ideas around and talk about training horses . Sometimes those people who are on the outside looking in can be a real help and always keep it very positive ,” Corey continues .
“ Here in Australia , my help team Todd Graham , Dean Holden , Casey Tones and Aaron Wheatley have always helped me a lot and have done so for a long time , so it was just so good to have them there for this win . It really was very special to share it .”
