From the moment the flashy bay colt was born , owner and breeder , Simone Laidely , of Tamworth , NSW , knew that he was something special . As he got older , Rip , as Simone called him , proved to be smart and very quick to learn . He was one of those youngsters that easily retained his lessons , and the older he got the more Simone appreciated his type and conformation , his eye-catching presence , and his natural , balanced movement .
From the time he was weaned until he was broken in , Rip ran with some of Simone ’ s geldings , and learned some great lessons and to have some respect . It ’ s something that Simone firmly believes is of benefit for every young colt .
Rip ’ s sire is the exceptional athlete , One Time Royalty Q-72108 , who ’ d been ridden to the 2010 NCHA Open Futurity Championship with Lloyd Cox . Rip was out of the Tassa N Smart Q-40837 mare , Tassas Jay Jay Q-75305 .
