After a short break, we moved onto our biggest event of the show – 2yr & Over All Age Hunter in Hand. Hunter in hand is a class geared towards the suitability for Hunter under saddle, creating the perfect venue for many performance-type QH’s the chance to be recognised in hand for their conformation, temperament and movement. From 16 entrants, the 2019 State Champion was awarded to Littlestone Kryptonite Q-82644, shown by Tracy Allen. Hot on their heels was Clairveaux Im SurelyGood Q-80804 shown by Devyn Naef in Reserve Champion and REQ All Things Nice Q-85795 shown by Shellina Walther coming in 3rd place. This class was proudly sponsored by Bushby showing Skips Hot Cookie for their champion win and to Karen Cornish showing Im Pawsitively SurelyGood Q-72936 for their reserve title. Paula & Karen were also 1st & 2nd in the Open Western Pleasure feature sponsored by Rebeccas Western Designs. Our Harris Saddlery Youth Western Pleasure feature champion was Mia Tierney riding RQH Bam Ba Lam Q-60397, with Charlotte Maney and Inscription Q-66854 as Reserve Champions. Saturday night saw some fun and games and pizza night on the grassed area. It was great for all to kick back and relax with some relief of cooler weather! A big thank you to Paula Balgera for organising the dinner and Rynelle Greig for organising the games! Hay with our champion taking home a $250 hay pack. Saturday evenings events started with the Amateur Western Pleasure Feature sponsored by Showtime Show Clothing. Congratulations to Paula Balgera We finally came to the last day of the show with everyone looking forward to an early finish! Whilst we had the English events underway in the indoor arena, the WAQHA also ran unofficial Western Dressage outside. A big thank you to Vanessa Hancox for organising, Berny Taylor for her help and a very massive thank you to Roxanne Balchin who gave up her day to judge.
