Congratulations to Gail Rapley riding Got the Laredo Blues Q-70066 for winning the All Age Open Feature Ranch Riding, with Deb Worth and Roc Story Q-59074 coming in Reserve Champions. Following a quick break, we were back in ready for the trail and beat the heat! First up was the Joyful Firefly Memorial $1,0001 All Age Trail Feature. After the tragic loss of Joyful Firefly Q-57501 back in 2017, owner Bridget de Bijl sponsored $501 for the event. The WAQHA committee voted that from there on, the class would become a memorial in Flys honour, and competitor number 501 would be retired. This year, the prizemoney was raised to $1001. A big congratulations to Tracy Allen riding Littlestone Kryptonite Q-82644 for winning this event and taking home the big bucks. Coming in a close second was Im Pawsitively Surely Good Q-72936 ridden by Karen Cornish. One of WAQHA’s long term supporting sponsors, Sign Ur Neighm sponsored a heavy weight kersey wool rug for the Highest Trail Score of the show. A great innovative that meant anyone could win it. The highest score of the show was 74.5 and was won by Karen Cornish riding Im Pawsitively Surely Good Q-72936, Congratulations. After the Friday events had concluded and the weather cooled down, we met back in the arena for some fun, Led Trail. Dress your horse, your dog, your human, whoever! A big thank you to Karen Cornish for volunteering to score and Melissa Deutscher for organising. AUSTRALIAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION - WWW.AQHA.COM.AU
