PG.10 AQHA FEATURE WARWICK GOLD CUP AQHA Congratulates DARRIN JONES & PLAYERS GARTER! ARTICLE BY: LYN HOFFMANN © 2019 / PHOTOS BY: SOUTHERN BELLE PHOTOGRAPHY Competing at the Warwick Gold Cup on an AQHA registered horse, and being a financial member, comes with great incentives! At the Warwick Gold Cup, in October, 2019, a few AQHA members found out how good it really is! T he undeniably iconic Australian equine sport of Campdrafting got its roots in the late 1800s when stockmen, keen to prove who had the fastest and most talented horse on a cow, began to compete against each other, with more than likely, a few bets thrown into the ring. From that humble beginning, and 130 years odd years later, the sport continues to grow. With a Quarter horse’s speed and their desire to work a cow, Campdrafting is an event they are well suited for.
